Graphic Designer

BNIM’s Kansas City headquarters is seeking a talented, creative, experienced graphic designer to work within a team-oriented marketing studio. Work may involve design opportunities in proposal research and production, promotional and presentation materials preparation, all medias of print, company brand/identity management, package design, interactive/web and environmental graphics. Candidate should have prior relevant experience and have an associate or bachelor degree in graphic arts or other design-related field. Environmental graphic design and web skills are a plus. Must be proficient in Adobe CS3 and Microsoft Office programs. Must demonstrate a content-driven process and also have an aptitude for project management, time management, proofreading, accuracy and efficiency. Must be self-starting and team-oriented. Prior experience with architectural firms or a passion for architecture is desired. Urban Planner

BNIM Architects is seeking an Urban Planner to join our team. This position is located in downtown Kansas City, MO and will have the opportunity to work on community redevelopment and urban planning, with a particular emphasis on the creation of sustainable communities. This position requires an understanding of urban design principles and analytical skills for the preparation of plans, reports and programs, as well as the ability to write planning documents, relating to such areas as neighborhoods, mixed-use and redevelopment districts and transportation corridors. Strong computer, writing, design and communication skills are necessary. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning or closely related field and three years’ full-time experience in urban planning or community development work. EOE

Sustainable Building Analyst- Kansas City

Work with BNIM design teams and Elements consulting clients to evaluate building and system designs for building type and climate-specific energy and water efficiency using building and daylight simulation tools; prepare information regarding the design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated life-cycle costs and creation of sustainable matrices; perform directed research and evaluation of analysis of green building products; document building, system and product designs for compliance with USGBC LEED program; and educate design staff, industry and clients about sustainable design strategies. Requires: Master's degree in Building Design or closely-related field with an emphasis in building energy/daylight analysis; 4 years as an Architect, Engineer or closely-related position; demonstrated knowledge of building energy/daylight analysis; energy analysis packages, such as Equest and IESVE; and daylight simulation tools, such as DaySim; and USGBC LEED Accredited Professional Certification.
