Kansas City Office Tour

Our offices are located in the historic Power and Light Building designed by Hoyt Price and Barnes and completed in 1931. This building has endured as a landmark of Kansas City.

Our offices occupy the first 3 floors and a conference room on the 29th floor.

In a space once used to pay utility bills, architects now create new visions for the city.

The 2nd floor lobby showcases the mixture of modern lighting and design alongside the historic art deco finishes.

When BNIM moved into this space in 2000, much restoration was required due to decades of mis-use and neglect.

The space features Art Deco motifs that incorporate water and sun.

The third and 29th floors are remarkably different with a more loft feel.

All materials and systems were selected on the following criteria in order of importance—energy efficiency, human and environmental health, durability and performance, embodied energy, resource limitation, and waste management.
