LEED®ing the Way
BNIM Architects has been a national leader in sustainable design for nearly three decades. A key contributor to the development of the U.S. Green Building Council, members of our firm were key in authoring the LEED® guidelines that have become the standard rating system for sustainable projects today. In LEED version 1.0, BNIM Architects had two pilot projects: the Montana State University EpiCenter and Canyon Forest Village. It was from the MSU project that the materials radius point in LEED was formed. Out of Canyon Forest Village came the groundbreaking CFV Sustainable Design Guidelines, with particular emphasis on regional site and water issues. BNIM Architects is currently working on multiple projects around the country in version 2.0, two of which are on track for a Platinum/Gold rating –The Department of Natural Resources in Missouri and the UT-HSC School of Nursing & Student Community Center at Houston.
