BNIM Announces Vincent P. Gauthier, AICP as Director of Planning
Kansas City, Mo. (February 11, 2013) — BNIM today announced Vincent P. Gauthier has joined BNIM as Director of Planning. Gauthier brings more than 25 years of experience leading development in the public and private sector. Gauthier joins BNIM after previous positions as President of Urban Realty Interests, Inc. an urban development consultancy, a previous post as Director of the Port Authority of Kansas City and continues his tenure as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he has taught “Urban Redevelopment” since 2002.
“Vincent is uniquely qualified to lead BNIM’s planning studio,” says Steve McDowell, BNIM’s Director of Design. “In his roles as a preservationist, urban planner, director of a redevelopment authority, real estate broker, multi-use developer and community leader, he has developed a strong history of ensuring implementation on a wide variety of projects and will bring this same ability to BNIM’s planning projects.”
The BNIM Planning studio empowers communities to be healthier, more vital, and more sustainable through transformative planning and community development projects. Gauthier brings insight into how communities and municipalities function to his role and will continue to cultivate deep interaction with our clients to realize systems-based solutions and implementation success.
He will lead a well-established and collaborative group of BNIM planners who have worked on such projects as the Sustainable Comprehensive Plan for Greensburg; Kan.; Tuscaloosa Forward Generational Master Plan, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Rebuild Springfield, Tornado Rebuilding Master Plan & Strategy, Springfield, Mass.; City of Fargo Comprehensive Plan, Fargo, N.D.; and many others.
Gauthier studied architecture as an undergraduate at Tulane University and holds a Master of Science in Planning from University of Tennessee, as well as a Master in Design Studies with Distinction in Real Estate Development from Harvard University.
