Make it Right Honored by USGBC at Clinton Global Initiative In New York

On September 24, 2009, U.S. Green Building Council President, CEO and Founding Chair Rick Fedrizzi recognized Make It Right New Orleans for its work to revitalize the Lower 9th Ward by providing residential housing post-Katrina. Make It Right has already constructed 13 LEED Platinum certified homes and is building at least 150 more sustainable homes designed to provide safety in the event of future storms, operate efficiently and receive LEED Platinum certification.

In 2007, BNIM was one of 13 firms selected to design a single-family residence around the principles of safety, affordability, sustainability and high design quality. Three houses of BNIM’s design are currently under construction. In 2009, the firm was one of 14 firms that designed multi-family homes focused on flexibility, integration with the street, landscaping as a design and energy element and affordability.
