Hans Nettelblad, AIA, LEED AP BD+C / Associate Principal

Hans Nettelblad directs BNIM’s Existing Building sector, which retools and repositions existing buildings to perform better and provide healthier environments for workers. Hans understands how key renovation strategies can help building owners and developers increase market positioning. In 2007, Hans was appointed by Governor Kathleen Sebelius to the Kansas Energy Council, an expert panel that encourages energy-related production, research and development, conservation and other energy-related economic development. His experience serving as project architect for ongoing projects at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, in addition to leading several projects in the rebuilding of Greensburg, KS led to him being named The American Institute of Architects’ Kansas City Chapter “Architect of the Year” in 2008.
