Stephen Hardy, AICP, LEED AP BD+C / Associate Principal / Director of Planning

Stephen Hardy is Director of Planning at BNIM. As the project manager for the Greensburg Sustainable Comprehensive Plan, he helped the City plan for recovery after a catastrophic EF-5 tornado demolished 90% of the town's buildings in 2007. The rebuilding of this small rural community—documented on Planet Green in a 3-season series—has helped the notion of a sustainable future become mainstream thinking in America. Stephen believes in the power of our communities to transform the way we live, interact and grow. Stephen incorporates his practical experience with the design training he received at the Harvard Graduate School of Design to find the balance between good planning and responsible design.
