In 2009 and 2010, BNIM was ranked number three on the list of the top five U.S. firms that are role models for green and sustainable design by Design Intelligence, a leading source of industry research. BNIM has received seven AIA/COTE Top Ten Green Project Awards, including a 2010 Award for the Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL), which achieves net zero energy and water. OCSL is a paradigm for achieving balance between the built and natural environment. It is among the first buildings in the world to achieve full certification under the Living Building Challenge™ 1.3, in addition to having obtained a LEED Platinum certification. The firm’s work has been recognized with 14 international awards, 55 national awards, 99 regional awards and 202 local awards. BNIM has 21 Certified LEED Projects, including 11 Platinum-rated facilities.
