BNIM has designed environments for hundreds of thousands of people, equaling more than 20 million square feet. The commonality among these mixed-use campuses, residential facilities and large and small office projects is our obvious passion for creating spaces that engage each user and support the clientâ€™s vision and mission. Through our years of experience, we have learned a lot about designing and planning for spaces that cater to user and client needs â€” from features of sustainability like increased energy efficiency and life cycle costs, to the relationship between buildings, their site and the interaction of their users, to the qualities of interior environments that engage the human senses, enable flexibility and maximize marketability.
The team used the urban design principles of walkability, mixed-use, connectivity, compactness, sustainability and community for this development.
The Plaza Colonnade is an innovative and successful public-private partnership comprised of commercial and institutional uses.
BNIM, together with local developers Copaken, White & Blitt, was selected to create a plan for a compact, mixed-use development for the City of Lenexa, KS.
