American Lung Association of Oklahoma

BNIM completed a feasibility study for on a first-of-its-kind, showcase building for the American Lung Association of Oklahoma. The healthy building is envisioned to provide offices, conference space, educational space, meeting rooms, exhibit space, exercise facility and research space for indoor air quality (IAQ) related studies.

The firm explored the possibility of renovating the old Tulsa Fire Alarm Building for use as a portion of ALA’s new home.

Project goals include creating a healthy indoor air environment that can help prevent lung disease and improve the overall health of the occupants by serving as a teaching model. The facility planned to also demonstrate all aspects of good indoor air quality design and construction, including proper ventilation and HVAC design, commissioning, source identification and control, material selection, and building cleaning and maintenance practices.
