Sioux City, Iowa The project will incorporate sustainable features and is pursuing LEED Gold. Sustainable features anticipated for the project include daylighting, natural ventilation, high efficiency fixtures, green materials, local materials, site water management, geothermal and other strategic, holistic design elements. BNIM is leading the design of the Learning Center Addition to the Sioux City Art Center, originally designed by SOM. Conceptualized as a bar building to contrast the more complex geometry of the original museum, the addition is expressed as two parallel walls comprised of concrete and glass fins that serve as backdrop for a proposed sculpture garden. | |
