Redesigning Design for Global Resiliency

Planet Earth and its larger atmospheric environment are changing rapidly and becoming increasingly unpredictable. Storms, wildfires, and changing weather are symptoms that wreak havoc on all living systems; however, they are only symptoms, and the true conditions are yet to be fully understood.

Awakening

Once I’d settled into the cab and headed toward City Center, I found myself pulling up the photo again. There was former President Barack Obama giving a fist bump to Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunberg, who had visited with him just the day before to discuss the climate crisis. Along with the photo, Obama tweeted that Thunberg is “already one of our planet’s greatest advocates” and that our future will be shaped “by young leaders like her.”

Grassroots 2019: Empowering Student Leaders

Kyra Stark joined BNIM as an architectural intern for the summer of 2019. She is a member of the 2019-2020 American Institute of Architecture Students National Executive Board. Kyra was sworn in as South Quad Director at the annual conference, Grassroots, in Washington D.C. in July 2019.
