2019 AIA Central States Design Awards

2019 AIA Central States Design Awards

The 2019 AIA Central States Design Awards took place in St. Louis, to celebrate award-winning architecture designed by architects in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

BNIM is pleased to receive a 2019 AIA CSR Honor award for architecture for the Johnson County Community College Fine Arts and Design Studios completed in January 2019. The building was recognized for providing flexible and vibrant studios, thoughtfully sited to provide intimately scaled exterior spaces for the creation and display of art and to integrate and strengthen campus connections. The design of the project has included careful consideration of the building envelope, energy use, occupant health and well-being, building systems and connection to the surrounding arts neighborhood and larger campus. A huge congratulations to the team and our collaborators, The Clark Enersen Partners, SK Design Group, and JE Dunn Construction.

BNIM was also recognized as an Emerging Professionals (EP) Friendly Firm recipient for outstanding commitment to the development to our EP staff. An emerging professional is defined by the AIA as a student, recent graduate or architect licensed within the last 10 years. Our firm has several EPs engaging in our company-wide Thrive program. Thrive is one of many ways BNIM supports, inspires, and guides employees through every career stage from date of hire.
