BNIM Presents Educational Session in SCUP Webinar: A Community College Perspective on Their Role in Future-Proofing Education

On Wednesday, March 15, from 1:00-2:00PM EST, BNIM Principal James Pfeiffer, and Johnson County Community College Dean of the Industrial Technology Division Richard Fort will present the educational session A Community College’s Perspective on Their Role in Future-Proofing Education in an upcoming SCUP Webinar focused on workforce development. This forward-thinking session explores workforce development as a driver for planning and design in community colleges, addressing the demographic cliff for future learners, utilizing metrics to understand long term projections around enrollment needs in the region, and building for the future with human-purposed integrated design.

Learning Objectives

1. Evaluate current masterplan using lessons learned from community colleges in educational offerings and access in a post-COVID environment.

2. Incorporate design solutions that create a diversity of spatial and programmatic options to help overcome some of the causes of a diminishing workforce.

3. Include workforce development as a driver for planning and design.

4. Use your building as an educational tool by putting in place a robust program that uses metrics for continual improvement.
