BNIM Wins Two Prestigious Architecture Awards

The Pacific Center Campus Development – Research + Development Building in San Diego, California received the American Architectural Award for 2018 by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. In its 24th year, this awards program is the nation’s highest and most prestigious distinguished awards program that honors new and cutting-edge design in the United States. This award will be given at the gala reception at the Institute of International Education, United Nations Plaza in New York on June 20th, 2018.

The R+D Building is the larger of a two-building campus development for a Fortune 500 Technology company in San Diego, California that transcends typical workplace design to attract and retain the best talent. It embraces its ideal climate and connects employees to nature by providing abundant outdoor spaces for collaboration and interaction. The R+D Building was one of more than 100 winners selected from a shortlist of 340 projects.

Westport Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri was selected for a 2017 Faith & Form/IFRAA Religious Art and Architecture award in the Religious Architecture, Renovation category. The jury for the International Awards Program for Religious Art and Architecture noted the international projects’ focus on adaptive urban spaces, which places an emphasis on creating community connections. This award will be given at the 2018 AIA National Convention in New York on June 22nd, 2018.

Following a catastrophic fire in 2011, BNIM revitalized Westport Presbyterian Church in a manner that paid reverence to the Church’s rich history and created a stronger presence within the community.
