Cheryl Lough to Lead BNIM's Landscape Studio

Cheryl Lough, ASLA, was named Director of BNIM’s Landscape Architecture Studio. Through her guidance of the award-winning studio, Cheryl is looking forward to supporting BNIM’s unique, collaborative design process, which blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. She believes that multidisciplinary design leads to enhanced spaces that supports invaluable human insight, instincts, and vitality.

“Cheryl is first and foremost a talented and gifted designer who brings a wealth of experience and a critical eye to each of our projects. She is a dynamic leader deeply committed to her work and focused on helping people, organizations, and communities achieve their goals.”

Dedicated to evidence-based design, Cheryl specializes in socially equitable, environmentally sensitive and biologically diverse placemaking. Her interests in materiality allow her to explore how design can embrace the context of a site or community and how buildings and landscape can work together.

Cheryl’s work spans projects large and small, international and domestic, including current work on the Maintenance and Operations Complex at Palomar Community College in San Marcos, California, multiple projects for the County of San Diego, the Mission Federal Credit Union Headquarters in San Diego, and the West Bottoms Flats Green Infrastructure in Kansas City, Missouri. She will also lead BNIM's ongoing work with the Kansas City Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Garden.
