Happy 100th, Bill!

Celebrating Bill Dunn, Founder of J. E. Dunn Construction.

Bill Dunn’s impact is everlasting. At 100, his lasting impression and contribution could easily be measured by the national growth and impact of the construction company that he built. While that success is truly remarkable, it pales in comparison to the transformative civic role that he has played in Kansas City. Thousands or maybe hundreds of thousands of individuals and families and truly remarkable organizations are better off because of Bill Dunn through his leadership across the entire civic spectrum of Kansas City. Happy birthday, Bill!

Back when I was a junior architect, I have vivid memories of Bill making appearances at the project sites during grand openings or special events. Every time I introduced myself, he would respond, "Yes, I know who you are. I've read all the project meeting minutes and noticed your significant contributions in leading the project." His reputation for meticulously keeping track of the projects and thoroughly reading all the project notes was widely known, as he made sure to stay on top of everything.
