KC Design Week: Betting the (Urban) Farm

As part of Kansas City Design Week, BNIM Associate and Landscape Architect Adam Wiechman, ASLA PLA, will present Betting the (Urban) Farm alongside Ami Freeberg of Cultivate Kansas City and Vera Williams, founder and soil scientist for Surface Water Solutions, LLC. The presentation will feature the native plant landscape and urban farm of Westport Commons located on 39th Steet in Kansas City MO, including exploration of best practices, unique features of the design, and challenges and opportunities. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the site’s landscape and Westport Commons Farm, which provides fresh, nutritious, and locally grown food to the surrounding neighborhoods while improving the health of the soil.
