Kevin Nordmeyer Presents at 2022 AIA Iowa Convention

BNIM Principal, Kevin Nordmeyer, AIA LEED AP, will participate as workshop speaker and panelist at the 2022 AIA Iowa Convention. The presentation titled Energy Efficiency Jedi and panel discussion will take place Friday, September 30 2:15-3:15 pm. This presentation explores how recent supply-chain disruptions caused by the pandemic and rising construction costs have impacted project scope and timeline. Panelists will discuss some of the recent challenges and solutions based on real-life project examples.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

Understand the various factors that influence the project design goals, demystify some common misconceptions about energy efficiency investments, and the value of integrated design approach to meet the goals
Leverage energy efficiency co-benefits such as resiliency, wellness, decarbonization to drive development of high-performance buildings
Evaluate design alternatives using life-cycle analysis to maximize performance within budget constraints
Learn the various tools, policy, resources available to help drive value-engineering conversations
