BNIM San Diego has exciting news to share. Several of our leaders are demonstrating their passion and commitment for San Diego through professional service and recognition.
Matt Winter, AIA
Matt Winter, Associate Principal, was appointed by the Mayor of San Diego to the Historical Resources Board.
The board is responsible for designating individual historical sites, establishing historical districts, and reviewing development projects that may affect historical resources.
Phil Bona, AIA
Phil Bona is serving as the 2017 AIA San Diego Chapter President, and holds a position on the AIA National Strategic Council. Phil’s plans for the AIA Chapter support Housing Affordability through Town Hall meetings and regional civic planning exercises with the San Diego City Council. He will also be promoting net-zero energy for residential buildings, as well as addressing homeless transitional housing, workforce housing, and independent senior housing.
Phil has written in advocacy of San Diego as City of Villages for The San Diego Union Tribune.
Matthew Porecca, AIA
Matthew Porecca was named by The Daily Transcript as one of the 2016 Top Construction & Design Leaders in San Diego County. In the profile, he shares what motivates him and some secrets of his success. “If BNIM's projects have a common thread, it's a focus on sustainable, high-performing buildings with clients who have similar values,” Porreca said.
"We're generalists, but that diversity spurs a lot of creativity and innovation. We're able to push ourselves and look at projects with fresh eyes."
