Stop Asian Hate

Stop Asian Hate

We are hurt, angry and deeply upset at the violent event against the Asian American community that took place in Atlanta.

Xenophobia and racism have no place at BNIM, in our communities or in our country. We condemn racism, violence and hate in any and all forms towards any group.

We call on those leaders who have used xenophobic and racist rhetoric and have failed to take responsibility for their influence to honestly apologize and work to stop Asian hate.

The rising violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community since the start of the pandemic is a painful reminder that we must acknowledge the racism that exists and work towards a way to create a safe environment for everyone, regardless of one’s background.

We denounce the myth of the “model minority” and recognize that to combat the racism and xenophobia towards the AAPI community that has existed for generations, we must amplify their voices and continue to educate ourselves.
