University of Nebraska–Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music to Host Open House for New Westbrook Music Building
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music will open the doors to its new home at 10th and Q streets with an Open House from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 22. Guests are invited to explore the state-of-the-art Westbrook Music Building through self-guided tours, with faculty, staff, and students on hand to share insights about the new spaces and programs.
The celebration continues at 7 p.m. with the Cornhusker Marching Band’s annual exhibition in Memorial Stadium, offering a preview of the band’s pre-season highlights and the popular “drill down” competition. Both events are free and open to the public.
Designed by BNIM in collaboration with Sinclair Hille Architects and built by Hausmann Construction, with Kirkegaard as acoustical engineering consultant, the 103,000-square-foot Westbrook Music Building is a new hub for performance, collaboration, and creativity.
“The building is both beautiful and highly functional, and it truly supports the next chapter of excellence at the Glenn Korff School of Music,” said Felix Olschofka, director of the School of Music. “I am truly excited to welcome back our community and alumni to experience our new space — a place designed to inspire creativity, collaboration and connection. It’s exciting to imagine all the possibilities this new home will open up for everyone.”
