AIA 2030 Commitment By the Numbers Report: BNIM Achieves 86% pEUI Reduction for Second Consecutive Year

BNIM is proud to announce that, for the second year in a row, we are one of just 27 signatories out of 460 reporting firms to meet the 80% predicted Energy Use Intensity (pEUI) reduction target across our entire portfolio of projects.

During Earth Month of this year, BNIM shared our reporting of an 86% reduction in pEUI from the 2003 energy baseline across more than 5 million square feet of designed space. This achievement is the result of sustained commitment, lessons learned, collaborative design innovation, and a shared vision with our clients for what buildings can—and should—be.

Our progress toward the 2030 Challenge goals reflects lessons learned, collaborative design innovation, and strong partnerships with our clients who share the vision of resilient, regenerative, and net-positive built environments.

At BNIM, we view net zero energy performance as our starting point, not the aspirational goal.

Every project represents an opportunity to:

  • Reduce long-term operational costs
  • Improve health and productivity
  • Strengthen market position through environmental leadership
  • Mitigate risk in an era of rising energy and climate volatility (and insurance premiums)

We remain steadfast in our belief that the choices we make in design today shape a livable, thriving tomorrow. Together, we will continue to advance sustainable design strategies that transform obligation into innovation and opportunity.
