Building upon the goals outlined by Vision Metcalf and the Downtown Form-Based Code, the Overland Park Downtown Parking Plan identifies specific parking strategies that support a higher density, mixed-use pedestrian-friendly area. New development and activity will create a need for more parking. This study explores how that need can be met in a manner that supports the community's overall vision for downtown, including the following goals: attracting new residents and visitors; supporting and strengthening existing businesses; encouraging new development; providing an attractive, inviting environment.
