The Facilities Master Plan Update helped Johnson County Community College (JCCC) produce a relevant, updated plan, with concepts and guiding principles for development of multiple campuses facilities and infrastructure designed to support the College’s strategic goals and priorities for 2025-2035.

The Facilities Master Plan encompasses JCCC’s multiple campuses, including its main campus, the College-owned Health Education Center, and an off-campus leased facility. BNIM’s scope of work encompassed:

  • Meeting with College stakeholders to determine the future vision for programs and services
  • Benchmarking of existing campus spaces to national community college standards
  • Reviewing existing College space planning guidelines and recommend modifications
  • Assessment of existing classroom and laboratory spaces to meet changing pedagogy and to accommodate hybrid course delivery methods
  • Reviewing student services and support spaces to best support student success
  • Providing assessments of and recommendations for location of academic programs
  • Reviewing existing building infrastructure and related deferred maintenance
  • Incorporating the College’s commitment to sustainability, including energy and water conservation, transportation landscape, materials management, and renewable energy
  • Reviewing campus design features including signage and wayfinding
  • Proposed capital projects
