BNIM is excited to welcome a group of attendees to Kansas City for two tours: a visit to our studio and an exploration of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where art and architecture interweave.

BNIM Firm Visit

BNIM is excited to host a small group of WLS attendees at our office in Kansas City, 1.4 miles from the conference hotel. We are an employee-owned design company focused on designing high-performing environments, recognized in 2011 with AIA’s National Firm Award (bnim.com). We will provide a tour of our office, share our design philosophy, and offer a few hors d’oeuvres alongside a brief cocktail class on the history and fundamentals of the classic “old-fashioned” from one of our favorite local chefs, Celina Tio.

Interweaving Art & Architecture at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Tour

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is one of the leading cultural arts institutions in the region and a treasured place in the Kansas City community for nearly a century. The museum welcomes over 500,000 patrons annually to explore its renowned collection of more than 33,500 works of art and to participate in a wide array of arts education, community events, and cultural celebrations. The museum’s multi-decade evolution and campus transformation has expanded gallery space, arts programming, and educational opportunities to enhance visitors’ experiences. The award-winning Bloch Building addition, designed by Steven Holl Architects, was completed in 2007, and today, the museum embarks on a welcoming new expansion and renovation project designed by WEISS/MANFREDI that will serve the Kansas City community for generations to come. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.
