Carey Nagle Keynotes at the ’23 AIA LA Conference on Architecture: Seeking Transformation and Holistic Resilience

Through the lens of our work and process, BNIM Principal Carey Nagle demonstrates multiple scales of holistic resiliency and explores opportunities to design for a better future together at the 2023 AIA Louisiana Conference on Architecture in New Orleans on Friday, the 29th of September.

Carey served as the jury chair for the ’23 AIA Louisiana design awards along with noteworthy Iowa architects Paul Mankins, FAIA, Mindy Aust, AIA, and Khalid Khan, AIA.
About Carey Nagle AIA LEED AP
Carey Nagle is a Principal and higher education and cultural practice leader at BNIM who brings over two decades of experience to the firm’s Des Moines studio. His projects have been recognized with multiple national awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for design excellence, and he also received the AIA National Young Architect Award in 2016.
He is a recognized leader in the realm of high-performance design excellence and a holistic practitioner with a broad range of notable project experience and successful project delivery, consisting of museums and cultural facilities, higher education projects, office buildings, adaptive reuse, and modernist preservation. Carey’s notable project experience includes the renovation American Enterprise Group Headquarters; the LEED Platinum-rated Iowa Utilities Board / Office of Consumer Advocate Office; the Adaptive Reuse of Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA; and most recently, the new University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art. He is currently leading the firm’s work on the Las Vegas Civic Center.
Carey has presented BNIM’s work nationally and has a passion for serving his community through his involvement on The City of Des Moines Urban Design Review Board, the Governor’s Smart Planning Task Force, and Iowa State University Department of Architecture’s Architectural Advisory Committee.
