Steve McDowell is paneling at the 2020 P3 Higher Education Summit
BNIM President and Director of Design Steve McDowell, AIA, LEED AP, will be a panelist at the P3 Higher Education Summit alongside Sweta Meier, AIA, NCARB and Jan van den Kieboom, AIAI, NCARB, principals of WORKSHOP Architects.
This annual summit will bring together over 850 higher education and industry leaders to examine campus infrastructure challenges faced by schools nationwide; and how new approaches to procurement, risk, planning, and asset management are helping campus planners deliver critical projects. The Summit focuses on project management, planning, procurement, and networking for senior business and facility administrators from higher education institutions, developers, engineers, architects, and other industry professionals.
The virtual conference will take place October 28-30th. Steve will be paneling in Session 5: The Power of Design in This Moment on Friday October 30th, from 1:30PM - 2:15PM ET. Moderated by Amy Aponte, Vice President of Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions, the panelists will discuss the certain uniqueness about planning and designing campus facilities in 2020.
In addition to the impacts of COVID-19 on higher education, issues around wellness, mental and physical ability, affordability, access, race, equity and climate are intersecting in novel ways. Steve and WORKSHOP architects will share their approach to planning and designing for wellness, the human-nature connection, and shaping inclusive environments.
