The United Way of Greater Kansas City was at the end of their lease at their current office location and envisioned a workplace that would better align with their brand and mission while leveraging space in the Plaza Colonnade building. The Kansas City Public Library serves as a resource for many of United Way’s everyday clients, and the proximity of this new office space provides easier access to United Way’s services for these individuals. In a post-covid environment, the new United Way of Greater Kansas City headquarters office entices employees to be back the office and supports hybrid workstyles by creating an office that is energetic, like their brand, and engaging for their staff. The office features a gracious reception area, various open and enclosed conferencing and collaboration spaces, private offices, a work room and creative suite, a board room, open kitchen and lounge space, mother’s/wellness room and an inclusive all-gender restroom, and multi-purpose space for gathering, meetings, and donor events.
