Thulasiraj Ravilla

Thulasiraj Ravilla is a globally recognized leader in eye care systems, social innovation, and sustainable health delivery. He is the former Executive Director and current Director of Operations for the Aravind Eye Care System, the world’s largest and most impactful eye care network. Thulasiraj also heads the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology, guiding international teaching, training, research, and advocacy focused on eliminating avoidable blindness.
He served as Regional Chair of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness for South East Asia and later founded and led its Climate Action Working Group. His leadership extends across multiple mission-driven organizations as a board member of the Seva Foundation, Friends of Aravind, the Indian Institute of Management, and the Institute of Health Management and Research. Thulasiraj serves as a BNIM ESOP board member since July 2024.
