Thulasiraj Ravilla

Thulasiraj Ravilla is a globally respected leader in eye care innovation and sustainable health delivery. He is the former Executive Director and current Director of Operations for the Aravind Eye Care System, the world’s largest eye care network, and directs the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology, which supports global training and capacity-building to eliminate avoidable blindness.
He has held key international leadership roles, including serving as Regional Chair of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness in South East Asia and founding its Climate Action Working Group. Thulasiraj also serves on the boards of the Seva Foundation, Friends of Aravind, and leading academic and health organizations.
He has served on BNIM’s ESOP Board since July 2024, contributing deep expertise in mission-driven leadership and organizational stewardship.
